Easter is in full swing at Green Mountain Chocolate Company in Hopedale, Massachusetts. Look around and you'll see chocolate Easter bunnies, chocolate eggs, chocolate-dipped Oreos, chocolate-covered Peeps & bunnies and boxes of Easter chocolates. Green Mountain even sells chocolate-covered potato chips. For Passover, there are chocolate-drizzled matzah and chocolate sedar plates. All of these fine confections are made in house at their Hopedale factory.

Green Mountain Chocolate Company specializes in Swiss and Belgian truffles. There are large showcases of them at their retails stores in Franklin and Hopedale. They also ship their chocolates to customers all around the country and Europe.

CHOCOLATE POKEMON POPS AT COCOA BEAN OF VERMONT

Tuesday, August 30, 2016
Chocolate Pikachu pop

In this age of Amazon and Etsy, a simple chalkboard sign still does the trick. I was walking around State Street in Montpelier, Vermont when I saw the sign in from of Cocoa Bean chocolates advertising "Pokemon Pops" inside. I had to check it out. In the midst of all of this Pokemon Go craziness, they are selling chocolate Pokemon pops. I enjoyed a milk chocolate Pikachu pop. I also devoured one of their white chocolate sprinkled Oreos.

WOULD YOU TRY PEEPS MILK?

Thursday, March 05, 2015
Peeps sure has come a long way since I was a kid.  This photo is going viral on Twitter. The Just Born Candy Company is branching out and introducing Peeps-flavored milk this Easter. I'm not sure how I feel about this. They are also making flavored Peeps this year including blue raspberry, sour watermelon, party cake and lemonade. There are also orange creme-flavored bunnies. Check out all of the Peeps Easter products HERE.

GOO GOO CLUSTERS

Friday, September 13, 2013
One of the best parts of traveling is discovering local treats like Goo Goo Clusters. If you ever go to Nashville, you'll see Goo Goo Clusters everywhere and for good reason. These tasty treats are a Nashville tradition made in the music city. The original dates back to 1912 and is made with milk chocolate, peanuts, caramel and marshmallow nougat. There are two other varieties: peanut butter and supreme, which is made with pecans instead of peanuts. They are soooo good! If you aren't going to make it to Nashville, you can order 3, 12 and 72-packs online.

IT'S TAFFY TIME AT SEABERRY SURF IN WELLFLEET

Wednesday, July 17, 2013
Eat Up New England's Sizzlin' Summer Spots series continues on Cape Cod at the Seaberry Surf gift shop in Wellfleet. This place is famous for its extensive selection of Cape Cod souvenirs, but it's also home to some tasty treats. Check out their selection of taffy. Sure, you can be boring and buy a box that's already been filled, but what's the fun in that? Fill your own box or bag of Cape Cod taffy with the flavors your like. They have so many flavors from blueberry and chocolate to sea salt caramel and peanut butter.

Drive up the road a few miles and you'll find Cape Tradewinds in Orleans, Seaberry Surf's sister stop. Tradewinds has its own candy store filled with an even more extensive selection of taffy and homemade fudge. The fudge is really, really good and it comes in so many flavors. One of my favorites is their cranberry walnut fudge. Pick up some Cape Cod taffy and fudge the next time you're on the Cape. It's a great reminder of your vacation when you're back on the mainland!

MEET LENNY THE CHOCOLATE MOOSE

Wednesday, June 12, 2013
Maine is known for its wildlife, so it's only fitting that the state is home to the world's only life-size chocolate moose. You can find Lenny the moose at Len Libby chocolates in Scarborough, Maine. Yes, Lenny is really made of chocolate. 1,700 pounds of chocolate. It took about four weeks to sculpt him and he's been making visitors smile since 1997.

Len Libby makes and sells all kinds of chocolatey delights. They have chocolate lobsters, chocolate-covered pretzels and graham crackers. If you can't get enough of Lenny the moose, you can buy a milk or dark chocolate Lenny to bring home. They also have plenty of Lenny merch, like the shot glass I picked up. Len Libby also sells popcorn, taffy, nuts and brittle. If you don't live near Maine, you can always order online. Len Libby is a lot of fun for people of all ages and the candy is so good. It's certainly worth a stop if you're visiting Maine this summer.
