RESTAURANT WEEK AT MISTO IN KITTERY, MAINE

Restaurant Week in Portsmouth, New Hampshire ended just yesterday, but Eat Up New England made it in time! Our first stop was Misto in neighboring Kittery, Maine. This cozy, vegetarian friendly spot offered three-course lunches for only $16.95.

Course one: asparagus leek soup, bruschetta or insalata misto. I enjoyed their crunchy bruchetta topped with tomato, buffalo mozzarella and basil pesto.

Course two: Thai style stir fry (a special dish just for restaurant week), blacked fish tacos, steak tacos, California chicken wrap or Atlantic sole. I devoured their hearty chicken wrap, which was filled with cheddar-jack, romaine, avocado, tomato, bacon and a smoky chipotle. It came with homemade sweet potato fries.

Course three: House-made hazelnut fudge brownie a la mode or lemon & raspberry sorbetto. My wife and sampled both desserts. The brownie and vanilla ice cream was delightful and for me, the smoothness and flavor of the raspberry sorbetto really stood out.
