Since 1947, Lou's Restaurant & Bakery has been the place to eat in Hanover, New Hampshire. It's the perfect spot for family, friends and Dartmouth College students to gather. Eat Up New England recently stopped by for breakfast on a busy Sunday and discovered some unique eats on their menu.

Lou's is jumping on Sunday mornings. There was a line to the back of the restaurant. I made the best of it by ordering one of the few remaining maple bacon donuts that was glistening in their showcase. It was around $3 and worth every penny.

The line moved fast, and soon, we were seated at the back of the house. Our server came right over and brought us our drinks. I looked over the menu and was intrigued by their Cruller French Toast. They use a sugary sweet cruller instead of bread. I ordered "The Little Green," with the cruller, bacon, scrambled eggs and home fries. The Cruller French Toast was as delicious as it sounds.

Lou's has all of the other classic breakfasts on their menu including waffles, pancakes, omelets and biscuits & gravy. Breakfast is served all day. Their lunch menu is filled with burgers, sandwiches and salads. For dessert, there are frappes and ice cream. Lou's also serves pies, with fillings that rotate in and out depending on the season.
